A Music Producer or a Record Producer, is essentially someone that manages the entire studio recording process for the musicians, singers and other artists.
The main duties of a Music Producer are Directing recording sessions, Managing budgets.
A Music producer is the bridge between the artists, technicians and the record labels.
They ensure that the vision of the artist and the record label is executed as best as it can and that the project’s output meets the music industry standards.
In simpler terms, a music producer is a “Project Manager” for the entire process of budgeting, recording, mixing and mastering.
However, a music producer doesnt own any rights. Once the job is done and the music producer is paid for the work, the rights belong to the record label and the artist.
In very rare cases, the music producer co-owns the rights with the artist and the record label.
