The Dichotomy of Fame from the movie Rockstar is a mesmerizing instrumental piece by A.R. Rahman that captures the protagonist’s internal conflict between the allure of fame and personal turmoil. 

The track features a captivating shehnai performance by Balesh, whose soulful melody adds an evocative Indian classical element. This is contrasted with Kabuli’s intricate string work, weaving a sense of emotional depth. 

The interplay between the shehnai and the strong yet soft string work, creates a powerful fusion of Indian classical and Western rock, symbolizing the dichotomy between tradition and modernity, fame and solitude. 

This unique blend of styles makes the composition one of the most poignant and memorable pieces of the Rockstar soundtrack.

This piece was also used in Tanishq’s “The wedding Film” that was made in 2013.
