The Genius of A.R.Rahman

 

In the year 1992, Mani Ratnam’s Roja, audio was launched. And it took India by a storm! 

The people of India had never heard that kind of sound design. 

It was new, it was fresh, it was brilliant! 

The Genius behind the audio is our very own A.R.Rahman. 

ARR had changed the entire scenario of music production. 

He infused music and technology in a way no one in India had ever seen or done before. 

The usage of a double track, the concept of mixing and mastering, the innovative new sounds, the entire concept of sound designing was an entirely new to India. 

Rahman had set the standards and everyone followed his foot steps. 

He single handedly forwarded the Indian music industry into the 21st century. 

He was also one of the few Indian composers to explore Acapella.

Rahman had always stayed ahead of his time technically and yet managed to stay rooted, when it comes to music.

Although he plays around with the orchestration and technical aspects, there is always a melodic aspect that becomes an anchor point of the song/audio. 

Up until one point, it was believed, out of ignorance, that one can be good either technically or musically. 

And ARR broke all those myths with Roja. And he continues to do so with every album.

Needless to say, Rahman, the two time Academy award winner, is the pioneer of revolutionising and propelling the Indian music industry to an international standard.
